You Can Now Ride Your Bike Over a 3D-Printed Bridge In Netherlands

Dutch cyclists can now pedal over the world’s first 3D-printed concrete bridge. The overpass opened last week, as part of a new road around the village of Gemert in the Netherlands. Standing only 26 feet long and less than 12 feet wide, the small platform consists of some 800 layers of prestressed concrete, reinforced with steel cables. “The bridge is not very big, but it was rolled out by a printer, which makes it unique.” It also requires fewer materials than conventional techniques, and is better for the environment.
